Cross-Country Delivery Complete
This is being posted after the dust has cleared from the Christmas Celebrations. I am happy to report that the bass arrived unscathed to Central Oregon on December 21 — one week after she was shipped.
This is Jon, the proud owner and co-designer of dulcimer #46 (I’m not sure if he’s named her yet). Jon is an accomplished musician and woodworker, who unfortunately had a run-in with his tablesaw last month and came out the worst for it. Here’s hoping for a rapid healing process.
Congratulations on your new baby!

Hi Tim,
After viewing the picture you posted here it occurred to me that I need to finish putting on the bottom trim to that stove base. It’s only been a couple of years since I installed it !
I have placed the bass dulcimer in a position in our family room where I can easily look at it from my soft chair. I have tried a little bit of finger picking with my right hand. A musician friend, Kent, stopped by the other day and we had a short dulcimer jam going on using both of my newest dulcimers. Although my playing ability is limited right now I must say…a standard DAD and a bass DAD really sound nice together! The sustain on the new bass is really amazing!
I have not given ” Her Lady Bassness” and official name yet. My wife and daughters are trying to help me out some with ideas though.
Thanks once again for all you have done! I really love this new bass-ie lady!
